What Nykaa asks for
- Vertical, 3:4. Same orientation family as Myntra, and the opposite of Meesho.
- At least five angles per product.
- Clean white or neutral background on the primary image.
- Colour accuracy that survives zoom, which matters more in beauty than anywhere else.
Beauty is the hardest category to shoot well and Nykaa is where that shows. Glass, gloss, foil and metallic caps all reflect the room, and a listing where one shade looks warmer than the next reads as careless to a buyer comparing them side by side.
Shade ranges are where the real work sits. Twenty foundation shades is not twenty shoots, it is one lighting setup held absolutely constant while the product changes, with colour checked against the physical item rather than the screen. Get that right and the range looks like a range. Get it wrong and it looks like a collection of separate listings.
Swatch and texture frames are the other thing worth budgeting for. They demonstrate what a bullet point can only claim, and they consume product, so count units as well as time.
