Myntra is a fashion platform and it behaves like one. The buyer is judging fit, drape and fabric, none of which a flat pack shot answers. That is why model and ghost mannequin work carries listings here in a way it does not on a general marketplace.

Portrait is the format decision that follows from that. A vertical frame holds a garment on a body; a square one crops it. If you also sell on Meesho, which wants square, you are looking at two crops from one shoot rather than one image reused, and that is worth planning before the model is booked rather than after.
