How to take product photos for Zepto?

Point the face carrying the weight and variant at the camera, fill the tile with the pack, and shoot the entire range in one unchanged setup.

Zepto has no published image specification either. The brief comes from the category team during onboarding, so ask for it rather than working from a blog post.

The problem worth solving before you book a shoot is the variant grid. Your 100g, 250g and 500g packs sit next to each other, and so do your six flavours. At that moment the shopper is not comparing you against a competitor. They are comparing your products against each other, and the only difference between the tiles is a number printed on the packaging.

So the angle is the decision that matters. Whichever face of the pack shows the weight and the variant clearly is the face that goes to camera. Brands reliably get this wrong, and not out of carelessness: the instinct is to lead with the side carrying the logo, which is usually the side with the least information on it.

Then hold the setup still. Six flavours photographed across three days, with the light moved and the pack a slightly different size in each frame, look like six unrelated products lined up in a row. One lighting setup, one camera distance, packs measured to the same height in frame. This is boring discipline and it is most of what separates a range that looks established from one that looks improvised.

One practical note if this is your first quick commerce listing, which for a lot of smaller brands it is. Ask for the raw frames. Blinkit and Instamart will want the same pack set within a few months, and reshooting because you only received flattened exports is an avoidable cost.

Our Zepto photography covers full ranges in one session.
