Why one product photo is never enough online
A shopper on a product page scrolls through several images before deciding, and each one is doing a different job: the hero answers what is this, an infographic answers what does it do, a lifestyle shot answers what does using it look like, and a detail shot answers is the build quality real. Miss one and the page leaves a question unanswered right before checkout.
This is different from a single marketplace listing, which is built to one platform's spec. An ecommerce shoot for your own storefront has more freedom in layout but has to work harder, because there is no marketplace algorithm doing any of the selling for you; the page has to do all of it.
The other trap is shooting once for the wrong destination. A set built only for Instagram often crops badly onto a product page, and a set built only for a listing rarely has the story-telling frames a storefront benefits from.
